Group's posts with tag: adverts

What are tags? You can give your posts a "tag", which is like a keyword. Tags help you find content which has something in common. You can assign as many tags as you wish to each post.
View posts by people in your network with tag adverts
Make sure that when placing anything in your rail, that you view it in at least two browsers (IE and FF if at all possible)  And you should check often because it's very easy for something you have posted there, to find it's way UP into the ad area without you knowing it.  Even possible updates to the base themes by Multiply though usually it can be something that you have customized elsewhere.

This is what I found (notice how close?).  I had to readjust my rail things DOWN to get my tags OUT of the ad area.  (I have tags that can't be seen except by me but I will have some soon that can be seen by everyone)

So just keep  watch for this possibility.

Blog EntryRAIL ADS MANIPULATION - Important InformationFeb 20, '08 12:45 AM
by Linda for everyone
All members  should already be aware that you are not allowed to do any manipulation of a theme that involves removing, hiding or obscuring the ADs on a homepage, that show in the right rail. (And possibly elsewhere) This is what funds Multiply to allow you to enjoy their services.

Posting or using any theme that removes/hides/obscures these ads, may cause action that  could involve having members (and possibly you) lose their Multiply Accounts.  By posting or using any theme that affects ads in this manner, you are effectively putting your and other members' accounts at risk.  Doing so can also cause themes to malfunction, and certain features disabled.  Many are having to change themes for this reason.  (There may be errors in your coding that can also cause themes to not work too so if your theme doesn't work, this may not be the reason).

Themes have been found on Multiply that did involve removing/hiding/obscuring ads.  Some have already been removed from some of the Themes Groups and the Theme Author(s) contacted.  IF you have this included in your themes , you are required to immediately correct your theme or remove it.

This is in DIRECT violation of the TERMS.

The following is a partial list of the kind of Content that is illegal or prohibited on the Web site. Multiply reserves the right to investigate and take appropriate legal action in its sole discretion against anyone who violates this provision including, without limitation, removing the offending communication from the Multiply site and terminating the membership of such violators and reporting you to law enforcement authorities. It includes Content that:

"...blocks, removes or otherwise obscures the display of advertisements that appear on Multiply, or attempts to do so;"

So please, do not put your or other members's accounts at risk !

The first example is from [www.sexigraphics.com]. Below is the code that is supplied by the site to paste the graphic as a comment in someones guestbook.  As you can see, there is a lot of unnecessary added coding to advertise their site within the code.  All you actually need is the <img src='URL"> portion of this code to paste as your comment.

This is what the graphic looks like when posted in a guestbook:

I always keep a "WordPad" opened and dropped do
wn in my taskbar to use to take notes, edit codes etc. To edit the above code to remove the Advertisement portion of the code. Open a Wor
dPad and paste the code.
Opened WordPad with the above Comment Graphic Code:

In the next picture, you can see the highlighted portion of the code. This is all you need out of that entire code to paste as your comment without all the advertisements being displayed along with the graphic.

The next example code is from [www.Profilerocker.com]:

Just remember that all Comment Graphics codes are different from site to site and are embedded with their advertisements to promote their sites.  All you have to do is just analyze the code for the <img scr="URL"> portion of the code to use.
