LinkFIREFOX RELEASE & UPDATESJul 20, '08 2:19 PM
by Linda for everyone
Link: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/releases/

With this link you can always make sure you are running the latest release of FF. There was an update yesterday but if you don't have your FF set to auto check/install for them, you would have missed it. These are very important (build updates) because they fix issues. Use this link to get the latest.

Want to know what version & build you have now? Go to Help/About.

LinkHow Famous Your Multiply Site?Jun 22, '08 5:04 PM
by Demit for everyone
Link: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/321

Based on sophisticated web page ranking system PageRank, this add-on will tell you how famous your Multiply site is. Simply install it and have it on the lower right of Firefox window. Other ranking system like Alexa and Compete (?) also available. The status will change according to the current page in your browser.

UPDATE
*) For IE user, if you install Google Toolbar, the similar function is already included there.

An excerpt from HubSpot:
0-3: New sites or sites with very minimal links
4-5: Popular sites with a fair amount of inbound links
6: Very popular sites that have hundreds of links, many of them quality links
7-10: Usually media brands (NYTimes.com), big companies or A-list bloggers.

Open each one and click next to view each of them correctly and to save to your computer. Then upload to your own album. Then to create the link, add the image to a blog, highlight and click on the "link" icon. Put in the link, tick the html box, and there's your embed code with the link included!! No need to save the blog. Just use the blog to create your own html code. Use this link for your image:

Blog EntryWho CAN'T Use Firefox And Why?Apr 11, '08 5:25 PM
by Linda for everyone
Who here cannot use Firefox, and why?  I don't mean who DOESN'T.  I mean who CAN'T, and why can't you.   If it's personal choice not to, that's ok.  Just want to know what's going on with those that can't.

We want to help anyone who can't use it !  Or at least help anyone to NOT use IE since it does not follow web standards like the other browsers do.

Blog EntryAccidentally Close A Firefox Tab ?Mar 29, '08 3:28 PM
by Linda for everyone
Just a quick tip for those that use Firefox tabs. If you accidentally close a tab (we've all done it) you can go right back to it easily.  Whether you are customizing something or just reading a PM and ..ooops.

Click on Screenshot!

Just go to History, Recently closed tabs, and there they are.

Blog EntryUser Scripts For MultiplyMar 26, '08 11:11 AM
by Linda for everyone
Though this is sort of a browser customization and not a Site customization, I will still post it here because it has a feature that will help when trying to find those "new replies" both here and elsewhere on Multiply.

User Scripts are Scripts that are attached by way of a program to Firefox to give you additional features on any site, including on Multiply. (Click on images to enlarge and see)

First, install GREASEMONKEY, a Firefox Add on.  CLICK HERE

Then you can BROWSE UserScripts.Org HERE for Scripts for Multiply (or others).  You may recognize a name  there while browsing.  Multiply gives NO support for this btw.    And you can enable and disable Greasemonkey with a right click of the monkey face in your browser taskbar.

I currently am running several scripts for Multiply.  I LOVE  is a New Reply Separator that works in chronological view.  Makes my job a LOT easier here!  Might make yours easier too.  Might be the ONLY ONE you want to use but it's worth the price (FREE).  lol

Once you find the scripts you want to try, just download/install, and enable them in the Greasemonkey options (Right click, manage scripts).    The homepage link is HERE.  You don't have to just use scripts for Multiply either!

If you don't have it or need the Firefox link this is it

Don't worry about HTML code the first link gives you codes for the images

Multiply is of course "best viewed on Firefox"

Photo AlbumFF vs IE (Spacing issues) (2 photos)Mar 16, '08 10:13 PM
by J' for everyone

I am not even going to say I totally understand this, but I am "reposting" this from the "other group" and when those that do can repost it for better explaining....
and to jiggyboytheon "firefox not foxfire" oops good call you are right

My friend is learning to make themes on her own and we had a "bit" of misunderstanding till I grab the image.

Why would there be so much space on the top on Foxfire.. I find it annoying. (lol) - Me

Suggestion: design your page on Firefox (or any other Gecko-powered browser), so the chances it will look the same on other browser are greatly improved. IE just sux, as it does not follow web standards (W3C).

...........
Start with that I wont even get into codes lol

LinkInternet Explorer & CSS IssuesMar 16, '08 8:19 PM

Trying to get CSS-based websites to look the same across all browsers can often be difficult. Many of the problems however lie with Internet Explorer implementing CSS commands differently to other, more standards compliant browsers. All is not lost, however, as many of the differences you see across browsers are caused by the same Internet Explorer CSS issues...

I use this almost exclusively to inspect and dissect the elements of Multiply pages so I can get the actual names of any area. I can then edit the css it displays to make it work on the page. It will also inspect and display any html on a page!
