Blog EntryQuick Trick To Save An Image!!Jul 14, '08 5:52 PM
by Linda for everyone
So you’re browsing the web and come across an image that you want to save to your computer. There are various ways that you can go about doing this.  Most people do the right click, save as.. thing.  TEDIOUS!

DID YOU KNOW...  That all you have to do using Firefox or IE, is drag an image directly to your computer ?  You can do this from a web page or from any album here!  And this trick works from the thumbnails page HERE as well!  So you can grab an entire album of photos to your computer with no more right clicking!

It works like a champ in both Firefox and Internet Explorer, and completely bypasses the Save-As dialog making it a quick way to save images.

Similarly you can also drag and drop hyperlinks to your desktop to create a bookmark/shortcut to that page. I did, however, find out that if an image is hyperlinked it will create a shortcut rather than saving the actual image.

Give it a try!

If you can drag and drop it, I love it!

Blog EntryRough Guide To Image Sizes That Are NOT Hi ResJun 30, '08 1:54 PM
by Linda for everyone
Regular image sizes (those that aren't hi res) are based on the base theme you are using.  So they will vary.  Note:  If your image isn't perfectly square of course, then you won't get the square sizing as indicated below.

From User Support:

I've seen a lot of theme makers do themes with a vintage-y feel. This site converts any old picture you have to look, well, really old! See what themes you can think of making and have fun!

Take note: If you get to the site and it's in Japanese, have no fear! You can click on the link on the upper right hand corner to translate the site into English.

Blog EntryImage Property Url (Location) For HotlinkingMar 29, '08 2:46 PM
by Linda for everyone
Though this information is in several tutorials here, this is a common mistake made by so many when first learning to hotlink images here.  So here is a breakdown and tutorial about your images stored here on Multiply.

(Click on screenshots to enlarge)

1.  This is your image url (The url in the address of your browser when you open an image in an album)  This is NOT what you use for hotlinking.  This is only the address or url for that photo or image.  It's where you are when you open a photo.  (It's only a web address)

2. This is what you do to get TO the image PROPERTY url (also referred to as location since this is the location where your image is stored on Multiply's servers).  Right click on your image, and then click on properties.

3.  This is what you will right click, select all, and then COPY to paste in  your html hotlinking code.  This is the actual image property url (or location).  This is what you must have to put in your html or css when putting image url information there also.

For inserting images in replies, use this code:

< img src="IMAGE PROPERTY URL GOES HERE" >

Blog EntryCOPY Photos - One Album To AnotherFeb 22, '08 11:10 PM
by Linda for everyone
You know you can move your photos from one album to another.  But did you know you can copy them also? From one album to another either in the same account or between two different accounts!  From ANY album to your album!

Find someone who's sharing tons of Backgrounds and images for customizing?  No time to download them all and then upload them?  Just copy them!

Click on the screenshot to see the instructions!

NOTE:  You must use the java uploader for the drag and drop window (window #2)

Now that's cool.

Remember, you must open the image when you do this.  D & D does not work on thumbnails.
